OR NOT !
Where should I start with People and Ebay - I love Leather - I buy all the Leather purses I find ! But I pretty much only sell the name brand items - Even though - Most of the other bags are twice as nice ! Hate to say it - but - even when it comes to Retro Items on Ebay - big Names are the only things that sell - Money-Wise ! Like the briefcase I sent you - I can not sell anything that I myself would not want to use - If I had a need for it ! That's why I started to spiff the items up ! Back to the use of Spiffing Up the Product ! Once upon a time - I would not retouch anything - People Complained - Damned if you do - Damned if you Don't ! I have found that - Especially Black Leather comes alive with Leather Dye or Even shoe polish - I use a Leather Cleaner and Conditioner Wipe that I buy at Walmarts - Cheap - They are easy - And work as good as the expensive! In some cases - I feel like I've given it new life - If you know what I mean ! But then with things like: Well like the British Tan Case I sent to you - Light Colored Leather takes on a darker color because it absorbs the chemicals more. Just like it says in a Coach Brochure: The Leather does go darker, but it also needs to have the conditioner to prolong the life of the leather! No matter what you do - There's always going to be a complaint or two! Truthfully - Just between me and you I describe it the best as I can and sit back and hold my breathe until you hear back from the person -Especially when people bidding get carried away - It's usually - What they call - Buyers Remorse - I feel it myself - Especially when I see something I would love to just take a look at on ebay - And I end up Paying a little more than I should have - I am more angry with myself ! Here's a little tip I once read in a coach brochure: Rub a scratch with your fingertips - The oil on your skin will help the scratch blend ! Try it - It works - Especially on Coach leather - OR -What they refer to as Glove Tanned
Back to Ebay - OR - NOT !
I haven't yet gotten the briefcase. I also sell leather items on eBay and have routinely treated them with my own favorite leather conditioner - smells like honey to me. Several people have 'complained' about the smell. Personally, I think they are the ones who are wrong, but do you find that people are too quick to complain? Do you hesitate to treat the items you sell for this reason? I would appreciate any feedback you can give me. Thanks - Miss Judy
